In Washington where she was raised and trained Lee Chang grew up with wrestling. She was originally born in Hong Kong but her parents were killed in a car crash which she only narrowly survived at age 1. Once she was 2 she was adopted by an American family who brought her back to Washington. Eventually this too came to an end. When Lee was 17 the family whom adopted her were on a vacation and on their way home their plane crashed killing them. They left Lee Money enough to support herself and made her want to be a wrestler more then ever. Her Brother Brian Kendrick was left money as well, a bit more then Lee but in the end they shared it all as well as their love of wrestling.
(Lee's POV)
I had just received the call. Mama and Papa Kendrick had passed away in the hospital. Now Brian and I were left to fend for ourselves. I cried so hard on Brian's shoulder I cud feel him tense up. He was holding back his own tears too. This was not our favorite night ever. WE were asked to leave the hospital and to tell them what to do with the corpses. Brian took care of this being their biological son and all.
"Lee lets get out of here and get some take out sushi and go home. I think we need that" Brian said helping me up. I nodded silently and walked with his hand in mine leading me to his car. He was about a year older then me and we were as close as was possible. We headed towards the sushi place and got our order and sped home.
We headed into the house and sat on the couch together. Brian ate some sushi and stopped once he saw I hadn't touched it at all.
"Lee you gotta eat! I can't loose you too!" he said finally cracking and spilling tears. "Lee you're my sister, and I love you so much. Please just eat I can't loose you, I won't loose you." He said as I picked his head up in my hands.
"Bri, you aren't going to loose me. I love you too, I would never purposely do that too you, I'll eat but I understand where your coming from." I said trying to calm him down. He placed his head on my chest as we had done as children and sniffled lightly as I stroked his blonde hair.
"Lee I'd be lost without you. Never change little sister, never." He said sitting back up and trying to fake a smile. He then stroked my red hair as I began to eat sushi. How I loved it! We smiled at each other and headed up stairs. Brian headed into his room and me into mine.
Eventually I broke down again. I sobbed silently for god knows how long. Brian must have sensed it or heard my nearly silent sobs because he appeared at my door. He looked as awful as I felt he hadn't slept either.
"Lee I can't sleep and by the look of it neither can you. Can I stay here with ya?" he asked. I nodded and choked out a small yes. He sat on my bed and we curled up together like we had done when we were little.
"Bri, do you think their happy in heaven? Do you think they miss us?" I asked hugging him tightly.
"I'm sure their as happy as can be, and I'm sure they miss us too Lee." He said returning the hug. Eventually we both fell asleep like that. The next morning I awoke to Brian asleep beside me, this was pretty standard for us. I moved a bit trying not to wake him but he woke up and hugged me. "Lee, how are you any better?"
"Ya a bit, I feel like eating breakfast now. You want anything?" I asked.
"Nah I'll be right down I just need to give Tai a call" He replied. Tai was his best friend and I was totally in love with him. Brian had known Tai since 9th grade, and since then I had had a huge crush on him. I don't know if he returns the feelings but I have always been to shy to make my feelings known.
"O alright then I'll be back soon Bri." I said blushing a bit. I hoped so much that Tai would come over. If he were there I'd feel safe, and maybe this would give me the courage to tell him how I feel... Maybe..
"Hey Tai, sup man it's Brian."
"Hey Bri, I'm good but man you sound like shit what's up man?" Tai replied.
"Tai, my mom and dad were killed last night their plane went down and they were rescued but the medics were too late they couldn't do anything..." Brian choked out.
"O man Bri how's Lee?" Tai asked.
"She's not to good man, maybe you should tell her, and maybe she'd feel better?"
"No way Brian I can't tell her how I feel not now not so soon after this shit, but I'll be over in a minute to check on you guys, shit this is awful Bri, just stay cool I'll be there soon." Tai said hanging up. Brian made his way downstairs and saw me pouring myself milk into my cereal.
"Lee, Tai is on his way over to cheer us up, you cool with that?"
"Yup, I like it when he visits. He can always make me laugh." I said blushing deeply. I hadn't meant to say that so happily I should be so unhappy but Tai was coming! Maybe he could cheer us up?
A few minutes later the doorbell rang and Brian went to answer it. I could hear him and Tai talking for awhile eventually they came in and Tai hugged me tightly. I couldn't help but smile he had bought me a giant kitty cat to make me feel better. I loved it. Eventually we got into the living room where we watched some Mike Myers movies. Brian fell asleep after Austin Powers 2 and by So I Married an Axe Murderer; I was laying my head on Tai's chest.
"Lee, I'm not sure if I should tell you this, but I'm in love with you and I have been for sometime now..." I turned up wards to face his face. His blue eyes shone from the light of the TV. I couldn't help but smile like a moron at what he had just said. I decided to make my move before he beat me to it. I moved my face closer to his and our lips connected. It was amazing. WE started to make out on the couch. Noticing we might wake up Brian we moved up to my room. Closing the door we just kept on making out non stop. It had only seemed like seconds when we heard foot steps walking up the stairs we fixed ourselves up and sat on my bed, it had been 2 hours. We couldn't believe it.
"Hey guys sorry I fell asleep, o sorry am I interrupting anything?" Brian asked smirking at Tai.
"No man we were just chilling. Join us if you like?" Tai replied smirking back.
"Alright sure, and by the way guys I'm not an idiot and Tai your shirt is on backwards so you know." Brian laughed as Tai switched his shirt the right way.
We all fell asleep in my bed that night all cuddled up into a big ball together; maybe things would turn out for the better? Who knew? Well things did go well for a while. But eventually like all things it fell apart. |
