OUTSIDE THE ROPES WITH MATT HARDY
Gene's Introduction: Matt Hardy is one of four Smackdown! Superstars looking to add the elustrious U.S. title to his resume. And he has this secret weapon that none of this opponents do - Mattitude. Now when you look in Webster's Dictonary, you won't find Mattitude anywhere. Now that's exactly how Matt Hardy and his followers, better know as the MFers, run their lives.
However, even the biggest MFer might not know all there is not know about Matt Hardy. So in an effort to give the fans a little more Mattitude, Matt Hardy sat down with Josh Matthews.
Josh: Welcome to Outside The Ropes, Josh Matthews here, with Version 1, Matt Hardy.
Matt, I'm going to ask you 10 questions here. Are you ready to begin?
Matt: Sure.
Josh: Microsoft typically comes out with an upgraded software every few years. When can we expect to see a new version of Matt Hardy, and what would the improvements be?
Matt: Well, right now version 1 still runs very strong, so basically Version 1 - Stage 1, is all about Mattitude. And because the V1 handsign is so popular, when I upgrade, it will be Version 1 - Stage 2.
Josh: When that does happen, is there a marketing strategy in place?
Matt: Well there's always a marketing strategy, and I would give you that information right now. But right now it's classified as top secret, and it's very confidential, much like the show. Cheap plug.
Josh: Do you think Mattitude can bring peace to the Middle East?
Matt: Mattidue believes in miracles. Mattitude can do anything. Look what Mattitude's done for me. Everything that anybody's ever said I couldn't do, I've done. You know, basically I've made a career out of proving people wrong. They said when Matt Hardy went on his own from the Hardy Boyz, Matt Hardy would fail. He didn't! He's successful. They said Matt Hardy could never make it on his own, in the single's ranks, and I did. They said Matt Hardy could never lose enough weight to become the cruiserweight champion, and I did.
Josh: In the WWE magazine you talked about Mattematics. Our question is, what is the square root of Version 1?
Matt: The square root of Version 1? The square root of Version 1 would be Mattitude, basically. And Mattitude is the passion of Matt Hardy. Because Version 1 is the true and pure form of Matt Hardy. Basically when you break that down to the square root of me, Version 1, which is me, V1...This "shows V1 hand sign", it's always together. It's fairly simple...it's like a puzzle, all the pieces fit - perfectly.
Josh: Like E=MC˛.
Matt: Yeah, except better.
Josh: Absolutely.
Matt: Obviously!
Josh: What are some of the daily duties performed by your assistant, Shannon Moore?
Matt: Whatever I need him to do. Usually, I always have him wash my car, every week. And, actually he missed it...He's gotta...He might get a double shot. He always prepares my meals, he mowes my grass. I didn't like the way he mowed the grass this last time, so I had him pull it all out and fully reseed the whole yard.
Josh: Exactly what would it require to be an MFer and how does one apply?
Matt: Well basically to be an MFer, you have to wanna become one with Mattitude. And basically it's looking at me, realizing that Mattitude allows miracles to happen, allows the impossible to happen. And anything and anyone can benefit from Mattitude. It's unbelievable. It's like a missing link, in all time through the whole world. And basically if you have that desire to want to go there, and better yourself, then I'll give you a chance. But it's hard to become a Mattitude Follower.
Josh: I'd like to read the pamphlet.
Matt: Yeah, I'd like to get you in. Maybe I could do something with you. Maybe...but I don't know.
Josh: Have you thought about branching Mattitude into other fields? Maybe a Mattitude movie?
Matt: I'm sorry I didn't hear the question. I'm still looking at you, to see if there's a chance you have an ounce of Mattitude.
Josh: What do you think?
Matt: I don't really see any.
Josh: I think there might be some in my shoes.
Matt: Actually your shoes are pretty cool...But that's about the only thing you have going for you.
Sorry, repeat!
Josh: The next question is have you ever thought about branching Mattitude out into other fields such as in maybe a Mattitude movie?
Matt: Yeah. Possibly so. You know, The Rock was The People's Champ, and he moved on from Sports Entertainment and went to the movie field. And, Geez, I'm a lot more talented than The Rock.
Josh: Obviously.
Matt: So Yeah.
Josh: Where do you get these pants?
Matt: It's basically very spiritual and ancient chinese design, that basically stands for meditation. It stands for concentration and allows me to achieve Mattitude to the fullest.
Josh: Alright, last question...How about a Matt Fact for Confidential?
Matt: Matt Hardy is the attraction in the Sports Entertainment industry, right now. Number 1, is V1!
Why? Because of MATTITUDE! Get it Josh.
